an (unfinished) poem for the sky
(leaving this poem unfinished, for now. Maybe one day the sea would find another sky, somewhere.)
Little do humans know, that the sea has fallen in love with the sky since the beginning of time
Right from when God swings its wand on the third day, spawning two beings that are oh so sublime
With the waves on top of her head and currents on the tip of her fingers, its a pity how she doesn't realize how beautiful she truly is,
Since she only held her gaze upwards, staring at a being from a different species
The sky itself is vast and bright, even when sometimes it's eyes glisten with occasional occurrence of rain
Letting his tears pour down to kiss the earth, sweetly and softly so its dry soil wouldn't mind being stained
Often he comes in a lighter hue — light blue and pastel pink, letting the sparks that reside in his eyes show it's true colors
Or sometimes he fills the sky with bolder tones — yellow for his loyalty and red to represent his valor
He is breathtaking indeed — as she could only stare at him from down below, her waves crashing with longing and praise
His charm has always been her biggest weakness, it never fails in setting her heart ablaze
What an irony it is, since all she is made of is incombustible fluid, flowing along its stream just to reach its end in a place where it starts
Letting her tide rise to touch the tip of sky's finger, just to fall back again with a broken heart
Even so, the sea is too in love to let go —her auspicious soul is urging her not to lose hope
Maybe the sky is too busy nowadays, or maybe the sky is simply not interested; there are such things about sky that she needs to probe
Perhaps she knows too little about the sky,
these trivial matters are not familiar enough to her dismay,
Then again she might miss all those little details but that doesn't mean she couldn't make him stay.
